I’m Elliot Bradshaw, a trans gay man living in the UK.
I hope to use this space to share my art and writing so that it can reach other people who may relate to it, and provide a window into my lived experiences. I often find myself expressing my gender identity through paintings or poems as it can be so difficult to articulate in any other way especially when society has such a rigid concept of what is and isn’t acceptable.

I wanted to share this piece I made last year during one of my lowest points. I wanted to portray someone visibly trans, without the illusion of sunshine and rainbows. I wanted it to be clear the subject had to fight to get to where they are, sewing themselves back together in the process. But at the same time I wanted to celebrate trans joy. Even though they had to fight to achieve their dreams they’re unashamed to show off their scars and their journey.
It’s very reminiscent of how hopeless my journey was feeling at the time, and I hope by sharing this piece it can reach someone who might be feeling the same way and remind them that joy is always worth fighting for and that there is always hope.
