Our Youth Advisory board is a group of eight exceptional young people aged 16-25 from across the South West. Launched in July 2024, they are key to shaping our mission and advocate for the trans community.
"I have been out as trans since I was 11 years old and am very proud of it and enjoy being in the trans community. I enjoy technology, playing video games (especially sonic!) and watching doctor who!"
"I am a queer trans guy with a Primary Education degree who's excited to help and support trans youth across Devon. I am proud to be myself and not mute my personality, gender or characteristics because of societal judgement and standards - I've just started hormones and had top surgery two years ago. I enjoy movies, skateboarding, music, messing around with my guitar and reading."
"I've been out as nonbinary for 4 years. I love art, painting, scrapbooking and sewing clothing, expressing a lot of creativity through fashion and personal styles. I take great pride in my growing confidence over the years, learning to adapt to and embrace the crossovers of neurodivergence and gender non-conformity."
"I'm a big old nerd: I attend larps, I play ttrpgs, I've been on hormones for three years now. I've been lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing trans friends and role models who have helped me through some of the worst of the experience, and uplifted the best of it. I want to do the same for others."
"I’m a gay trans man who takes pride in trying to make a positive difference for trans people in school spaces. I enjoy art, roller skating, live music and playing Dungeons and Dragons. "
“I'm proud of being queer and disabled, I enjoy creative hobbies, and I love History which is my academic subject. I'm especially passionate about queer and medical histories, and histories of disability, as well as all of the intersections between them.”
"I'm a young queer person with a passion for art and representing my community, I want to make change and inspire people either creativity or to be themselves."
“I am proud of being able to accept parts of myself that I struggled with before figuring out who I was, it's still a journey but there are parts of me that I see much more positively knowing that they are aligned with this new and true version if myself. I enjoy writing poetry to express and come to terms with things in my life, whether

I enjoy writing poetry to express and come to terms with things in my life, whether positive, negative, neutral, it is a way of sharing creatively my life which I haven't been able to do before.”
