Relationships

The transition of relationships

Faces of people you love

Their eyes scanning

Darting rapidly

Failing to grasp onto any signs of false familiarity

They flee the scene

Revealing their unspoken thoughts

Damaging as they hit around your head

Expectations crying,

Lying,

Dying

On the floor

Yet the least expected put their hand out

Gesturing for new introductions

For they have always seen you

In the slips of make pretend

Glimmers of your true authenticity

Waiting for your truth to show

Whilst never wavering

By Jay Alexander

Distorted acquaintance (inspired by the moon)

Your course around me shifted

Altering your account of me

My reflections to you became distorted

Consistently mirroring the glows of others

Impersonating them as mine

No wonder you don't recognise me anymore

Now I'm no longer concealing my shine

In fear of dazing you.
